Das große Kräftemessen/Fight with the gutter
Loads of things happened since our last update in Dijon. We lost every sense for time and so Sunday or French holidays surprised us three times already. Of course we visited Dijon once we were there. Dijon is a city full of impressive buildings and if you just follow a little owl on the ground, you see all the tourist stuff. But still the rain gutter was the most impressive of all.
Die Ardeche - unsere Badewanne/The Ardeche - our bath
After that we had enough of the big city and followed the hint of our good friend the road map which said that the Pont d’Arc at the Ardeche is supposed to be a place worth seeing. Holy shit – what a nice place. We spent two days, hiking, swimming and sunbathing.
Mehr Höhe - weniger Sauerstoff/ The higher you go the less oxygen you have
Geschafft!/ Did it!
Kunibert der Bergsteiger auf 1148 m Höhe/ Kunibert the mountain goat in 1148 m high
On our way to the Provence Kunibert had to climb loads of mountains, but as a reward we got nice views.
Kulturelle Bildung/Cultural education
Pont du Gard
As we arrived in the Provence we dedicated our days to a lot of cultural education. We visited the Amphitheater in Orange and the aqueduct Pont du Gard which we knew from the Aldi winebox.
A cote de la Pont d'Avignon...
After the „Romans day“ we had a „Pope day“ in Avignon. Big palaces and impressive sculptures – maybe not all from the Popes, but still cute. Of course we wanted to dance on the bridge, but it was closed already. So, we danced in front of it.
The following day we followed the call of Viens (French for come). A hitch-hiker from the area was our guide. So, we got to know the nice provincial village. We also got a beer for free and a hot shower, which was needed. Tres bien. We picked a few herbs for our next meal and left this beautiful spot.
Campingplatz am Strand/Campsite at the beach
Je suis, tu es, elle/il est...
Next destination: Cote d’Azur. It feels weird as a Nomade in a VW bus between all those Porsche, SUVs and so on. The sea, the sun and the environement is really nice, also the temperature were like a German summer. The only annoying thing was the looks of the high society with their faces full of botox, when they saw us. Nevertheless we had a beautiful place right at the beach near St. Tropez and spent two days swimming and improving our French.
Alpen zum Frühstück/Alpes for breakfast
Luxus pur.
This is enough of holidays for now, we have to go back to work. We are now on a farm at the French-italian border. We are supposed to harvest olives soon. At the moment we are maintaining and filling oil in bottles. Our place is marvelous – nice view, running water, electricity and good food.
Wir werden hier wohl noch zwei oder drei Wochen verbringen. Doch langsam erhält auch hier der Winter Einzug. Also über lang oder kurz geht's noch weiter Richtung Süden.
We probably stay for another two or three weeks. But winter is coming here as well. That's why we will go further south sooner or later.
